NY state Democrats are pushing a plan to register people to vote when they apply for a driver's license

New York State Senate Democrats have introduced a new plan that would automatically register citizens to vote in US elections when they apply for a driver's license, according to reports.

The proposal will register people in New York state to vote when applying for a driver’s license, automatically, unless they “opt-out.”

The move would enroll all residents who apply unless they are "demonstrably ineligible to register."

NY Senate Democrats passed legislation on Thursday that will "opt-in" residents who obtain driver’s licenses through the New York Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

As of this year, illegal aliens are legally able to obtain US driver’s licenses in New York.

The new legislation indicates that people will only be excluded from the state voter rolls if they check the optional “opt-out” box while applying for a license.

New York Democrats pitched the legislation as an effort to “reduce the incidence of voter registration fraud and voting fraud,” according to Breitbart.

Democratic state officials also seek to “prevent erroneous disfranchisement of eligible citizens, promote greater participation of eligible voters in elections…”

Sponsoring the legislation is Democrat Michael Gianaris, and co-sponsors include Democrat Joe Addabbo Jr., Jamaal Bailey, Alessandra Biaggi, John Liu, Neil Breslin, and Liz Krueger.

Currently, in New York, American citizens only need a driver’s license to register to vote, and although applicants are required to swear that they are eligible to vote, state election officials have previously admitted that “it’s basically an honor system.”

In June of last year, New York Republicans warned that the ultimate goal of Democrats in the state is to register all noncitizens and illegal aliens to vote in state and federal elections.

In California, where illegal aliens are allowed to obtain driver’s licenses as well, voter fraud has become common across the state.

In 2018, the state’s DMV admitted that it had registered 1,500 non-eligible voters, including noncitizens, over the course of just six months.

Government Accountability Institute (GAI) research director Eric Eggers told Breitbart in 2018 that California’s laws giving driver’s licenses to illegal aliens and its latest law known as “ballot harvesting” — which allows political operatives to collect voters’ ballots and deliver them to polling stations — is potentially contributing to mass voter fraud across the state.

As Neon Nettle reported last year, Democratic lawmakers in New York passed a bill that will allocate millions in taxpayer funds to pay for illegal immigrants to get a free college education in America.

The measure seeks to issue taxpayer-funded aid to “Dreamers” - non-citizens who entered the country illegally - who wish to attend college but can't afford to pay for it themselves.

The now Democratic-controlled New York state legislature passed the Dream Act bill in January 2019, making thousands of “Dreamers” eligible for financial aid to attend public colleges in the state.

The Democrat-backed legislation has come under heavy criticism from those who believe the money could be invested in the future of legal US citizens.

One Republican lawmaker describes the bill as a "slap in the face" for those tax-paying Americans who can't afford a college education for themselves or their own families.

The bill, which has attracted praise from Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, would cost $27 million.
