Ted Cruz: Iran Missiles Paid for by Billions of Dollars Obama Sent to Tehran
Texas senator believes former President's policy with Iran empowered regime

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas said he believed that the missiles launched by Iran at Iraqi airbases housing American soldiers were, "in a very real sense," paid for by the Obama administration who sent billions of dollars to Tehran in 2016.
Speaking with "Hannity," Cruz said the former President wrongfully "appeased" Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, which only empowered the regime.
"If you look at Iran policy, I think you've seen a dramatic shift [under President Trump]," he said.
"Under Barack Obama, as you noted, the policy was appeasement," he added.
"The policy under the disastrous Iran nuclear deal under Obama was to give over $100 billion to Iran."

Cruz also noted the $1.7 billion in cash, which was sent via airliner "on pallets, in the dead of night" to Iran.
"In a very real sense, the missiles that we saw fired on U.S. servicemen and women tonight were paid for by the billions the Obama administration flooded the ayatollah with," he said.
"If history teaches anything, it's don't give billions of dollars to people who hate you and want to kill you."
Cruz added that Iran continues to be "exceptionally dangerous."
Still, Trump's America is not likely to become involved in a war in the Middle East despite "hysteria" from the left and Democrats.

The Texan added that Americans would come together across party lines to defend against malevolent forces like terrorists.
He accused Democrats of "lighting their hair on fire" and cautioning about an allegedly impending "World War III."
Neon Nettle noted on Tuesday that Obama granted amnesty to Iranian terrorist Gen. Qassem Soleimani as part of the "historic" 2015 Iran Deal.
The Obama Administration removed Soleimani from a list of Iranian outlaws, along with other leaders of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, according to a 2015 article in The Telegraph.
In the July '15 report by the left-leaning newspaper, Defence Editor Con Coughlin declared that Iranian General Soleimani "fully deserves his reputation as one of the world’s leading terrorist masterminds."
For over a decade, he has been the driving force behind an array of Iranian-sponsored terrorist groups, from Hizbollah to Hamas, which have orchestrated a reign of terror throughout the Middle East, according to the report.
