Anti-Trump Actor Pierce Brosnan Flips, Praises President for Booming Economy
James Bond star thanks Trump for bringing 'happiness come back into our society'
The formerly anti-Trump actor Pierce Brosnan has broken ranks from his liberal Hollywood colleagues, by instead praising President Donald Trump's accomplishments.
James Bond star Brosnan once blasted Presdient Trump for having "torn this country apart."
But now, in a surprise turnaround, the A-list movie star is thanking Trump for bringing "happiness come back into our society."
Brosnan says he's thankful to President Trump for the booming economy, despite once saying that he thought he was destroying the country.
The 66-year-old veteran actor says what Trump has done for the economy and to increase employment "is very good."
The British actor is now an American citizen living in the United States and is best known for portraying the fictional spy James Bond in the movie franchise between 1995 and 2002.
"I think what he's done for the economy is very good," Brosnan said in an interview with ITK.
"People are working, and that's a step in the right direction," he added.
"This country is part of my life," he explained.
"I'm an American citizen. I love America and America's been very good to me.
"And I want to see happiness come back into our society."
This is in stark contrast to what he said just a year ago when he claimed that the destruction under Trump was so bad that he was considering leaving.
"That man has torn this country apart, and you have to work out how much longer you can stay here," he said in an interview with the Daily Mail.
Despite praising the economy under Trump, Brosnan added that he was unhappy with his environmental policy positions.
He says he wants him the president to focus less on coal-based energy.
"He has to get out of the coal business, the oil business," Brosnan said.
"It's just devouring the Earth around us."
"And there are other ways," he claimed.
"We've seen it from other societies, other cultures."
Meanwhile, other Hollywood elites have been less complimentary of their president.
A barrage of liberal celebrities, including Alyssa Milano, Michael Moore, and Rob Reiner, celebrated the votes calling Trump “criminally corrupt” and a “motherf**ker.”
They also accused the Republican Party of being filled with “white men.”
