CNN's Don Lemon Blasts Trump: Anyone Who Thinks He Did Nothing Wrong is 'Mental'
Anti-Trump Lemon called Wednesday's testimony 'explosive'
CNN's anti-Trump anchor Don Lemon attacked President Donald Trump on Thursday, insisting that anyone who still thinks he did nothing wrong is "mental" and has "got a problem."
Lemon called Wednesday's testimony "explosive," saying it was "not a good day" for the Trump administration.
"I have to say, at this point if you're continuing to say that there was no, as they say, 'quid pro quo,' or the president didn't ask, whether or not it's impeachable, that again is not up for me to decide, not up for you to decide, that's up for the Senate to decide and the American people," Lemon told Cuomo.
"But to deny that the president did not do something wrong at this point is... it's... it's mental. It is mental."
"If you can look at the mountain of evidence and say, 'Oh, nothing's wrong, the president didn't do anything wrong, he's just rooting out corruption,' you've got a problem because that is not what happened... The problem is you."
But Lemon failed to mention that Impeachment witnesses Kurt Volke and Tim Morrison, who were present at Trump's Ukraine phone call, gave testimonies confirming there was no bribery, no quid pro quo, and no extortion.
“I wanted to start between the July 25 call between President Trump and President Zelensky,” Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) began.
“Mr. Morrison, you were on that call, and there was no mention of withholding aid on the call, correct?”
I never in my wildest dreams thought my name would in any way be associated with the ugly word, Impeachment! The calls (Transcripts) were PERFECT, there was NOTHING said that was wrong. No pressure on Ukraine. Great corruption & dishonesty by Schiff on the other side!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 21, 2019
“That is correct, Congresswoman,” Morrison replied.
On Thursday, the president himself weighed on impeachment inquiry:
"I never in my wildest dreams thought my name would in any way be associated with the ugly word, Impeachment! The calls (Transcripts) were PERFECT, there was NOTHING said that was wrong.
No pressure on Ukraine. Great corruption & dishonesty by Schiff on the other side!"
On Tuesday, one of the Democrats' star "witnesses," Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, admitted that he fabricated details from the president's phone call with Ukraine's leader during an official summary of the conversation.
Vindman admitted he made up elements of President Donald Trump’s call with Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
