Meghan McCain: Trump Officials are Using the West ‘as a Slush Fund' for Putin
View co-host and daughter of late Senator brings back Russia narrative

Just when you thought the Debunked 'Trump-Russia collusion' narrative had been killed off, the View co-host Meghan McCain alleged that some members of the Trump administration were using the West as a "slush fund" for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
During Monday's show, McCain addressed her presentation of the Magnitsky Award to Oleg Sentsov, who was imprisoned in Russia for coming out against Russia's annexation of Crimea, before making the comment.
"I was at the Magnitsky Human Rights Awards in London, and Sergei Magnitsky was someone who found corruption in Russia, was subsequently tortured and killed because of it, and there is now an act that is in the United States, and we’re trying to make it expand globally where basically Russia can’t use the West and democracy for their dirty money, that they can’t launder it in countries that love and utilize democracy and freedom every single day," she said.

Before the show went to a commercial break, she added:
"I believe there are people in the Trump administration that are trying to use the West as a slush fund for Vladimir Putin and Russia, and we cannot let it happen."
Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya previously claimed that she had discussed the reexamination of the Magnitsky law, which McCain referenced, with Donald Trump Jr.

Earlier this month, Sen. John McCain's widow said he would be “disgusted” by the actions of President Donald Trump's Republicans, during an interview with CNN.
Cindy McCain described what she believed her late husband would be saying now if he were alive.
CNN host David Axelrod asked:
“I can’t tell you how many times lately I’ve run into people saying gee, ‘I wonder what John McCain would be saying right now.’
McCain replied:
“Oh, gosh. I think he’d be disgusted with some of the stuff that’s going on. I really do."
“I think what he’d be saying, is that he’d rail against what’s going on. And I think John provided a lot of cover for other members, and when he would do it, then they could get behind him kind of thing, and I’m not seeing a real rudder in the Senate right now, in all this.”
