Nearly 20 Police Officers Brutally Attacked by Antifa Extremists In Berlin
The demonstration was to protest the removal of far-left activists from properties
Far-left Antifa extremists have viciously attacked almost twenty police officers during a demonstration in Berlin, Germany.
Reports say Antifa members attacked police by throwing heavy paving stones and other projectiles in the Friedrichshain area.
A total of 19 officers were injured during the far-left group's rioting, according to Focus.
The demonstration was to protest the removal of far-left activists from properties, such as the infamous Rigaer 94 building.
The protests began the early evening in Kreuzberg and Neukölln, before moving to Friedrichshain.
But many extremists were allowed to retreat back into the Rigaer 94 building, as police were ordered not to pursue them due to a policy of “de-escalation” by the Berlin senate, according to German tabloid Bild.
The rioters, who sported the typical black hoods regularly used by Antifa, attacked a construction trailer with two security guards trapped inside during the demonstrations.
One of the guards said after the attacks that he “ran for his life.”
The attacks came after several similar attacks over the last month in the city of Leipzig by other Antifa extremists, which included fires set at one site last month that resulted in 10 million euros worth of damage.
Antifa members also descended on the apartment of an employee of a luxury real estate company before brutally beating her.
The regional government of Saxony has formed a Special Commission on left-wing extremism (Soko LinX) to combat the violence.

In 2018, there was a total of 222 left-wing motivated crimes in Saxony in 2018, according to government statistics.
But that number has dramatically increased to 305 so far this year.
In 2017, head of the Berlin branch of the Agency for the Protection of the Constitution, Bern Palenda, warned left-wing extremism was being underestimated in Germany.
Palenda said leftists perpetrate “well-organized extremist violence and do not shrink from killing people, if necessary.”
Support from the left
Earlier this year, Radical Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) burst into laughter after being asked by a reporter to condemn the violence of far-left terrorist group Antifa.
Omar refused to condemn the violent actions of the left-wing terror mobs when asked by a reporter, before seeming to burst into laughter when she thought she was out of view of the camera.
