Biden Gives Assault Weapon Owners 2 Options: Surrender Or Register With Government

Former Vice president Joe Biden pushed his gun control plan by giving AR-15 owners an ultimatum to surrender their rifles or register them with the government.
Biden's plan would also apply to AK-47s, variants of both rifles, and other firearms that have been labeled as “assault weapons" by Democrats.
The surrender or register option would also apply to “high capacity” magazines.
According to Biden's campaign site, he will give those who “possess assault weapons or high-capacity magazines two options: sell the weapons to the government, or register them under the National Firearms Act.”

This plan to register or buyback AR-15s appears on the Biden campaign site, just paragraphs after noting Biden’s position that the Second Amendment “is limited.”
The buyback or register plan is followed by Biden's pledge to close the “gun show and online gun sales loophole,” the “boyfriend loophole,” the “hate crime loophole,” the “Charleston loophole,” and the “fugitive from justice loophole.”
Earlier this year, Biden said that the National Rifle Association (NRA) must be defeated "in order to make our schools safer," with a ban on semi-autos, Second Amendment columnist AWR Hawkins noted.
Biden argued that arming school faculty members do not make schools safer.

The former Vice president insisted the only solution is more gun policies.
But this is the opposite of what experts across the country are finding.
In May, Biden claimed that the Second Amendment doesn't say that Americans are "entitled" to own guns."
Though he admitted the “Second Amendment exists," he argued that it doesn't say that Americans are “entitled” to own a gun.
Biden made the comments while taking questions at a small outdoor venue.
“By the way, if one of you left the keys in your car down the street, and a kid comes along and jumps in it and takes off, you could be held liable civilly for that," Biden explained.
"So if you own a gun, put a damn trigger lock on it. Put it in a case. You have an obligation.”
