Ted Cruz: Children Should Be Protected From Transgender Abuse
Senator says Texas should protect against life-altering medical procedures

Sen. Ted Cruz said that the state of Texas should protect children and youths from being rushed into life-altering "transgender” medical procedures, in a tweet Wednesday.
The Senator's remarks come as Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott launched an official investigation into a disturbing case involving the sex change procedure of a 7-year-old boy that is due to go ahead, against the father's wishes.
“A 7-year-old child doesn’t have the maturity to make profound decisions like this,” Cruz said, referring to the controversy.
“The state of Texas should protect this child’s right to choose—as an informed, mature person—and not be used as a pawn in a left-wing political agenda,” he said.

Texas law was written before the abrupt emergence of the claim children could change their genders.
Parents have the power to encourage their children to swap genders, and also medical treatments at an early age.
This comes despite the risks of medical procedures having irreversible and crippling effects.
Cruz’s intervention leaves Democrats in the position of defending child abuse, according to a U.K. left-wing opponent of the transgender ideology:
A 7-year-old child doesn't have the maturity to make profound decisions like this. The state of Texas should protect this child's right to choose—as an informed, mature person—and not be used as a pawn in a left-wing political agenda. #ProtectJamesYounger

I really think it was a catastrophic error by American liberals and left wingers to leave the “let’s protect a 7-year-old child from being put on a path to sterility” side to the Republicans https://t.co/cgyMTevnwQ

The federal law has few rules to guard children against abusive parents, teenage fads, or revenue-seeking medical professionals.
But many Democrat-run states have put rule sin place banning mental-health professionals from discouraging children from changing their sex.
The father, Jeff Younger's story went viral after he lost his court battle in the fight to stop his ex-wife from "transitioning" their son into a girl.
Governor Abbott tweeted that the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and the Texas Attorney General’s Office is looking into details of little James Younger’s case.
Dr. Georgulas was granted authority to move forward with puberty blockers, which can cause chemical castration, on Jeffrey Younger’s son.
With the jury’s decision, Mr. Younger will likely be forced to “affirm” the new gender identity of his son - a girl named “Luna.”
