Bette Midler: People Should be ‘More Grateful’ to Man Who Attacked Rand Paul
Singer takes aim at Kentucky Republican on Twitter

Anti-Trump actor and singer Bette Midler applauded the neighbor who violently assaulted Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul in a Wednesday tweet.
Midler, who is known for her twitter outbursts, said that people should “be more grateful” for the neighbor who attacked Paul.
“I DO NOT promote violence but… Rand Paul says the Kurds are being “ingrates” for taking their frustrations out on US troops,” Midler tweeted.
"Which is a good reminder for us all to be more grateful for the neighbor who beat the shit out of Rand Paul."
But the actor's claim that she doesn't promote violence is not true.
In June, Midler even suggested someone should "shiv" President Donald Trump, a word used to describe stabbing someone.

Paul's next-door neighbor attacked him from behind while mowing his lawn in 2017.
Paul suffered a pleural effusion and six broken ribs as a result of the attack
Boucher pleaded guilty to a felony assault charge.
He was then sentenced to 30 days in prison.
$580,000 in damages were awarded to Paul following the assault.

Unfortunately, I will have to limit my August activities. Part of my lung damaged by the 2017 assault had to be removed by surgery this weekend. The doctors, nurses, & staff at Vanderbilt University Medical Center were great. I should be able to return to the Senate in September

Various left-wing commentators mocked Paul following the attack, suggesting he deserved to be attacked.
In July, Democratic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar retweeted a Twitter post suggesting Paul deserved to be violently assaulted.
The tweet was posted by Tom Arnold, Roseanne Barr’s ex-husband, who replied to Paul saying Omar would be more grateful to live in America if she paid more visits to her home country in Somalia.
“After she’s visited Somalia she might come back and appreciate America more,” Paul said in a recent interview.
Arnold replied:
“Imagine being Rand Paul’s next-door neighbor and having to deal with @RandPaul lying cowardly circular whiney bullcrap about lawn clippings.
"No wonder he ripped his toupee off.”
