Joe Biden: President Trump Has 'Ripped the Soul Out of This Country'
Presidential hopeful reveals motivations for running
Democratic presidential frontrunner Joe Biden says he was partially motivated to run for president because Donald Trump has “ripped the soul out” of America.
During Biden's final remarks on Tuesday's 2020 Democrat debate, he took a swipe at Trump's presidency:
“That’s the reason why I’m running," Biden said.
"We have to restore the soul of this country. That’s why I’m doing this,” he continued.
“In fact, this president has ripped the soul out of this country, divided us in ways that are absolutely outrageous."
“A liar, he cheats; he does not do anything to promote people generally,” Biden told the audience.
Biden went on to describe the Trump administration as an “aberration.”
Before the debate, Biden's 2020 campaign sent a warning to his Democratic rivals, not to mention “discredited lies” about the former vice president's son Hunter and their family's dealings in Ukraine.

The Biden campaign warns that any presidential candidate who “calls themselves a Democrat” must refrain from repeating the allegations.
A Biden aide warned anyone who “calls themselves a ‘Democrat’” from pushing the “discredited lies.”
If they choose to do so, they “would be making a profound statement about themselves,” the aide said, according to Bloomberg.
Joe Biden's team is taking aggressive measures in an effort to deflect the mounting questions surrounding the Bidens’ business dealings in both Ukraine and China.
Following President Donald Trump’s phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Biden's family activity in the Eastern European country has drawn particular attention over recent weeks.
