Whistleblower's Attorneys Accuse CBS of ‘Making Up’ Fake Claims on '60 Minutes'
'60 Minutes' came under fire from the attorneys for the anonymous whistleblower

On Sunday, CBS's news program “60 Minutes” covered the White House whistleblower allegations regarding the conservation between President Donald Trump and Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky.
But in true form of the typical establishment media, the program was almost comically in favor of the Democratic side.
“60 Minutes” has now come under fire from the attorneys for the anonymous whistleblower after a key claim in their report that turned out to be false.
In a tweet on Sunday, the whistleblower's attorney Mark Zaid said specifically that the “60 Minutes” claim, that his client is “under federal protection because he or she fears for their safety," is completely fabricated.

Zaid wrote:
“NEWS ALERT: 60 Minutes completely misinterpreted the contents of our letter."
Then CBS tweeted the reply:
“60 Minutes stands by its sources and reporting on the whistleblower.”
Zaid has accused the show of misinterpreting the situation in his original tweet.
But in his second, he accused “60 Minutes” of “literally making stuff up.”
NEWS ALERT: 60 Minutes completely misinterpreted contents of our letter, which is now published online at https://t.co/HjmBrEQLEi. Nor have we, as we stated earlier today, reached any agreement with Congress on contact with the whistleblower. Discussions remain ongoing. https://t.co/3XSwmtuRrn

Is @60Minutes now asserting it has a source other than letter our legal team sent to @ODNIgov?

Because if it doesn't, and I know it doesn't, then it is literally making stuff up. That helps no one, especially the #whistleblower.
The media should always accurately report facts. https://t.co/aRRgzHpVAG
So, CBS lied. Kind of a dog bites man story...

Is anyone reading this surprised at this point?

Anyone? I literally expect the mainstream media to lie at this point. And that's sad.

The “60 Minutes” report failed to identify the letter it claimed to have “obtained,” but the first letter was the one from the whistleblower’s attorneys to Joseph Maguire, acting director of national intelligence.
The letter, which was signed by lead attorney, Andrew Bakaj, in no way indicated anyone was under “federal protection.”
So that leaves one of two plausible possibilities:
- 1. “60 Minutes” is talking about another letter.
- 2. They're just making stuff up.
For CBS to get a blistering attack from the whistleblowers very own attorneys, show how sloppy the establishment media have become.
If CBS fails to present more documentation, then it shows how dishonest and utterly inept they really are.
