AOC: Ukraine Transcript Shows Trump Committed 'Outright Betrayal of Our Country'
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez accused the president of betraying America

After the White House released the transcript of President Trump's now-infamous July phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday, Insta-famous Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) lashed out at her president, claiming the document proves Trump's "outright betrayal of our country."
The highly anticipated document details the conversation between the two leaders, the contents of which Democrats claim triggered them to push forward with impeachment.
House Democrats accuse President Trump of using US military aid as leverage to pressure Ukraine to probe former Vice President Joe Biden's family dealings in the Eastern European country.
However, while the newly released transcript of the call shows Trump seeking a review of Biden family dealings in Ukraine, the document does not show Trump explicitly leveraging US aid as part of a quid pro quo - an allegation Democrats cited when pressing forward with the president's impeachment.
AOC, not letting fact gets in the way of a good rant to her fans, took to Twitter claiming the transcript shows "it’s worse than we thought."

“Folks, I am surprised the White House even released this transcript,” Rep. Ocasio-Cortez said.
"It’s worse than we thought," the New York Democrat continues.
“The President sought to use the powers of the United States government to investigate a political opponent.”
Also - what they are calling a “transcript” isn’t even a transcript. It’s a collection of notes. This is what they are *admitting* to and it’s way above and beyond what is necessary for impeachment.

The President engaged in an outright betrayal of our country.
“We have no choice but to impeach,” she added, continuing in a tweet thread.

On Tuesday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced an impeachment inquiry into Trump’s conduct over a whistleblower complaint that he allegedly tried to withhold military aid to Ukraine to pressure the nation to investigate Joe Biden’s son, Hunter.
Trump released a transcript of the phone call Wednesday that appears to show that there was no quid pro quo in the call.
Ocasio-Cortez spoke to reporters Tuesday and said her call for impeachment was at least partially related to “districts experiencing the brunt” of Trump’s policies.
“I think we all, many of us, especially from districts experiencing the brunt of the president’s decisions, have been feeling a sense of urgency around this,” the congresswoman said.
