President conversation with Ukrainian leader goes public

The highly anticipated transcript of the July 25 phone call between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky mentioning Joe Biden and allegations of corruption has been released.
The intelligence community whistleblower's complaint prompted Nancy Pelosi's decision to launch an official impeachment inquiry against Trump on Tuesday.
The whistleblower made a complaint to Trump-appointed intelligence community inspector general Michael Atkinson, who then deemed the complaint as “urgent."
But acting Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire refused to publish the contents of the complaint to Congress after conferring with the Justice Department.

This in turn set of a chain of events in Capitol Hill, leading to lawmakers calling for President Trump to be impeached.
In 2018, former Vice President Joe Biden bragged that he threatened to withhold $1 billion in U.S. loan guarantees if Ukraine didn’t fire top prosecutor Viktor Shokin.
Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani claimed Biden wanted Shokin fired because Giuliani says Shokin undertook an investigation into Ukrainian oligarch Mykola Zlochevsky, the owner of Burisma Holdings, the employer of Biden's son who was on the board member starting in 2014, receiving $50,000 a month.

Democrats wrote a letter to the Ukraine Government in 2018, demanding Ukrainian officials continue investigating US President Donald Trump, according to a report.
Democratic Senators Robert Menendez (D-NJ), Dick Durbin (D-IL), and Patrick Leahy (D-VT) urged Ukraine to investigate President Trump for claims of alleged collusion with Russia during the 2016 presidential campaign — conspiracy later proved to be non-existent.
The demand from top Democrats resurfaced in a Wednesday opinion piece in the Washington Post written by conservative author Marc Thiessen.
The news follows the Tuesday announcement from Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi that Democrats are pursuing an official impeachment inquiry against the president.
