Failed 2020 Candidate De Blasio Boasts About Moving Biden Further Left
New York City Mayor credits himself for helping Biden 'evolve'

New York City Mayor and failed presidential candidate Bill de Blasio credited himself for helping 2020 frontrunner Joe Biden "evolve" to moving further left.
"I make this point about Biden. If there wasn't all that energy being expressed by progressives, maybe he wouldn't have evolved some of his positions," de Blasio said on Friday.
When de Blasio was asked if his campaigned failed because of his brand of politics, he responded:
“I think in a field of 20-something candidates, you know, it's hard to understand exactly what happened in the course of the campaign," he said.

"It's a long way to go to see what will happen ultimately. I feel very good about the message. I feel that people want progressive change.”
De Blasio continued:
“They want to focus on the needs of working people," he added.
"The message resonated real well. I wish I had more time. I wish I had more resources. I think that would make a difference ... and I think more than just the other candidates.”
De Blasio, who couldn't get above 1% support, said he believed the electorate would continue to push Biden further in a progressive direction.

“To be fair, he has moved on some policies already," he said.
"I think because there's so much progressive energy in the party, you've probably seen him go farther on climate and on healthcare and other issues than he might have on his own.”
President Donald Trump gave a hilarious response to the news that New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio was finally dropping out of the Democratic 2020 race.
Trump shredded de Blasio as he ended his presidential campaign, mocking the Democrat's unpopularity as NYC mayor in the city.
“Part time Mayor of New York City, Bill de Blasio, who was polling at a solid ZERO but had tremendous room for growth, has shocking dropped out of the Presidential race,” he wrote.“NYC is devastated, he’s coming home!”
