President Donald Trump has urged supporters to back Republicans as the party takes the "first steps to firing Speaker Pelosi and winning back the House in 2020."

Trump is encouraging citizens in North Carolina to defeat Democrats in the special election for the Ninth Congressional district in the state by showing support for the GOP candidate.

The president was in Fayetteville on Monday, campaigning on behalf of Republican Dan Bishop, ahead of Tuesday's closely-watched special election.

“Tomorrow, we take the first steps to firing Speaker Pelosi and winning back the House in 2020,” Trump announced.

“We need everybody to get your friends, get your family, and get your neighbors and get out and vote for Dan Bishop.”

Trump warned that a vote for the “other Dan,” Dan McCready, was a vote for open borders, sanctuary counties, and an attack on gun rights, as he touted Dan Bishop as an ally in Congress.

“Our great Republican candidate Dan Bishop will fight with everything he has to stop sanctuary cities and defend the people of this great state,” Trump declared.

According to Breitbart, North Carolina officials voided the midterm election of Republican candidate Mark Harris in 2018 after allegations that a Republican contractor working for Harris had acted illegally handled ballots.

Harris had won by 905 votes, but the North Carolina state election board refused to certify the election results.

After a new election was called, Harris dropped out of the race and Republican candidate Bishop ran instead.

Former Vice President Mike Pence was also in the state campaigning for Bishop and spoke at the president’s rally.

“He’s the right man, he’s the right Dan, he’s a principled conservative and we need North Carolina 9 to vote to send Bishop to Washington, DC, in tomorrow’s special election,” Pence said. “Let’s make it happen.”

The president also warned a vote for any Democrat in 2020 is "a vote for the rise of radical socialism and the destruction of the American dream."

He says Bishop offers "the only positive vision for the people of North Carolina."

"Our first task is a giant victory tomorrow," Trump added.

President Trump touted North Carolina as a "very big 2nd Amendment state" as Congressional Democrats push for expanded background checks for gun purchases.

Bishop is going to "protect your 2nd Amendment," Trump assured voters.
