Democratic Presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke voiced his belief that the decision to have a third-trimester abortion should be down to women to decide, not the government or men.

Speaking at the College of Charleston as part of the school’s “Bully Pulpit” series, the Texas Democrat was asked questions about third-trimester abortions.

“My question is this: I was born Sept. 8th, 1989, and I want to know if you think on Sept. 7th, 1989, my life had no value,” a member of the audience asked.

“Of course I don’t think that. And of course, I’m glad that you’re here. But you referenced my answer in Ohio, and it remains the same," he said.

"This is a decision that neither you, nor I, nor the United States government should be making,” O’Rourke replied.

“That’s a decision for the woman to make.”

O’Rourke was asked if he supported third-trimester abortions when he was in Cleveland, Ohio, in March.

The abortion in question is where there is fetal viability, and the child could be removed by cesarean section.

“So, the question is about abortion and reproductive rights," he continued.

In May, fellow 2020 hopeful Sen.Cory Booker slammed Georgia's “fetal heartbeat bill” as an assault on women and claiming “abortion is healthcare.”In March, Georgia and Tennessee passed bills banning most abortions heartbeat is detected.

The "heartbeat bill” was signed into law Tuesday by Republican Gov. Brian Kemp of Georgia, which will ban abortions for babies after six weeks’ gestation.

“Georgia’s ‘fetal heartbeat’ law is an all-out attack on women that will strip them of rights before many even know they are pregnant.”
