'MAGA' Model Stripped of Miss Nevada 2019 Crown for ‘Being a Conservative’
Miss Nevada State 2019 winner Katie Williams loses the title
Miss Nevada State 2019 winner Katie Williams has been stripped of her title by the Miss America pageant organizers after she claimed she lost her crown due to her conservative political views.
The dethroned beauty queen claims the organizers told her to run separate social media accounts, one where she could post political views, and the other one for ‘apolitical’ posts.
But despite her following instructions to create a second Facebook account, she continued to receive complaints about her pro-Trump messages.
Williams, who is also a member of the US Army National Guards and a combat veteran, was told on 18 August she had lost her title and had been banned from competing in the Miss America contest.
According to her statement posted on Instagram, she claimed pageant coordinators told her via emails that she was “too political” to be involved.
She added that the organizers insisted she deletes all political posts from her Facebook page to stay int he contest.
But Williams said the organizers failed to address her requests to clarify what content violated their ‘No Politics’ rules.
Williams created a separate Facebook page for the pageant, which was free from political content but claimed the organizers continued were not satisfied.
The posts, she says, included a picture of herself wearing a red ‘Trump 2020’ and expressing support for the United States and criticism of the leftist political organization Antifa.
Williams said she received calls from the pageant director, Susan Jeske, but decided to keep communication via email for her own safety.
“I stopped taking your calls because every time you were on the phone with me you told me you agreed with my political opinions and then in writing would softly scold me for them,” she said in a letter to Jeske,
Willaims published alleged screenshots of online exchanges with Jeske, which appear to show he pageant director encouraged her to take pictures with President Trump and his son, Donald Trump Jr. while wearing the Miss Nevada sash and crown.
Telling me in one sitting it's ok to get pictures with my sash to post on the Pageant's website. pic.twitter.com/9o3OLhPofF— Katie Williams (@KatieJo1821) August 20, 2019

I thought other pageants would learn from Miss World America’s mistakes from taking away my crown for being a Trump supporter and expressing my political opinions!
I guess @MsAmerica dislikes patriotic Americans. https://t.co/3XG8kxIvvl
But later, Williams was then told to surrender her regalia, and never to tell anyone about her Miss Nevada title and the pageant per se.
Williams said if her friends or family told anyone about the pageant, she would be deemed liable.
But she refused to accept these terms and began speaking out on attempts to silence her conservative beliefs.
“I am so tired of being labeled as this crazy, right-wing, whatever you want to call it,” she noted.
“I just don’t understand how you can censor someone with conservative values when I’m not even really saying anything that’s bad.”
The former Miss Nevada believed if she had more liberal views, there would be no issues.
But the CEO reassured that this wasn’t the case.
Ms. America organizers maintained that Williams was “distorting the facts.”
According to their statement, they maintained Williams was asked to do to keep separate social media accounts.
“One is for politics where she can voice her own opinion as Katie Williams, and the other is a new Facebook page for the pageant representing Ms. Nevada State 2019,” they emphasized.
“None of this had to do with her personal political views.”
But Williams allegedly refused to edit the Facebook pages by the final deadline.
“This leads the pageant to believe that she is no longer capable of representing this pageant as Ms. Nevada State 2019, and she is no longer eligible to participate in the 2019 national pageant,” they concluded.
Thew news comes a month after High profile Donald Trump supporter Kathy Zhu was stripped of a Miss World America title after the organizers took issue with black-on-black violence tweet, and refusing to try on hijab as part of school activity.
