GOP Congressman: Tlaib Obviously Hates Jews More Than She Likes Her Grandmother'
Republican Rep. Mark Green of Tennessee weight in on congresswoman
Republican Rep. Mark Green of Tennessee weighed in on Rep. Rashida Tlaib's recent spat with Israel saying she "obviously hates Jews more than she likes her grandmother" during an appearance Outnumbered Overtime with Harris Faulkner.
When Green was asked to give his thoughts on whether or not Israel should face the consequences for banning the Democratic congresswomen, he said it was "ridiculous."
"That’s absolutely ridiculous. Pretty much everything that they said in their press conference was an absolute lie," Green said.
"They said they were denied because of their faith. I mean that’s crazy. Israel allows Muslims to transition their borders all the time."
"In fact, there are six Muslims on the Knesset, right now, serving in the Israeli Knesset. So that was just one of many lies," Green added.
"This grandmother visit, and the tears, she hadn’t visited her grandmother for 13 years prior to this."
"If she really wanted to go see her grandmother, she would have gone," he continued.
"Then when Israel gave her the choice, give her the opportunity and said, 'Look, if you don’t get over there and incite stuff while you are in those territories, you can go.' And she said 'Oh no.' Obviously, she hates Jews more than she likes her grandmother. Obviously."
President Donald Trump echoed Green's sentiments on Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s emotional news conference.
Sorry, I don’t buy Rep. Tlaib’s tears. I have watched her violence, craziness and, most importantly, WORDS, for far too long. Now tears? She hates Israel and all Jewish people. She is an anti-Semite. She and her 3 friends are the new face of the Democrat Party. Live with it!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 20, 2019
When I won, it gave the Palestinian people hope that someone will finally speak the truth about the inhumane conditions. I can't allow the State of Israel to take away that light by humiliating me & use my love for my sity to bow down to their oppressive & racist policies. https://t.co/OYIwExV0ga— Rashida Tlaib (@RashidaTlaib) August 16, 2019
“Sorry, I don’t buy Rep. Tlaib’s tears,” Trump wrote on Twitter.
“I have watched her violence, craziness and, most importantly, WORDS, for far too long. Now tears?”
After the congresswoman was barred from Israel with Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), she demanded to be allowed to see her elderly grandmother in Palestine on "humanitarian grounds."
But when Israel honored her request, she refused the offer.
As the congresswoman choked back tears, she explained how her grandmother supported her decision not to visit Israel.
“She said I’m her dream manifested,” she said.
“I’m her free bird so why would I come back and be caged and bow down?”
But Trump reminded the world why Rep. Tlaib was anti-Israel.
“She hates Israel and all Jewish people,” he wrote.
