MSNBC Analyst: Trump's Presidency Could Lead to a 'Horrible Civil War'
Karine Jean-Pierre says Trump is 'not a president for black people'
Left-leaning news outlet MSNBC's political analyst Karine Jean-Pierre has suggested that Donald Trump's presidency could lead to a "horrible civil war" during an interview on Morning Joe Monday.
Jean-Pierre said that since Trump's inauguration, he has shown he "is not a president for black people. He’s not a president for women. He’s not a president for brown people. He’s not a president for the LGBTQ community. He chooses to just double down and triple down on bigotry and racism.”
Jean-Pierre then pleaded with Republicans and party leadership to "speak up."
“I don’t know where Donald Trump wants to take this,” Jean-Pierre continued.
“But wherever it is it’s going to be dangerous."
"It could lead to some sort of a horrible civil war, you know, he is testing us."
"He’s testing the democracy. He’s shredding the Constitution."
"And so, Republicans — the leadership in the Republican Party — need to stand up. You have to speak up. Because if you don’t, you are encouraging this."
It's also worth noting that MSNBC, who enjoyed high ratings throughout the Special Counsel's Russia probe, has seen their ratings plummet following the conclusions of Mueller's report.
The analyst's remarks come to after Trump slammed Elijah Cummings’ Baltimore district as a “disgusting, rat and rodent-infested mess.”
Trump also called Cummings a 'racist' as the Democrats continued to smear his comments on the district of Baltimore.
Trump made the direct statements describing the current state of Baltimore on Saturday as he accused Cummings of failing to represent his district well.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi along with other angry Democrats, responded to the president's remarks by accusing him of 'racism' and attacking minority members of Congress.
"If racist Elijah Cummings would focus more of his energy on helping the good people of his district, and Baltimore itself, perhaps progress could be made in fixing the mess that he has helped to create over many years of incompetent leadership."
"His radical 'oversight' is a joke!"
