FLASHBACK: Obama Warns Migrants ‘Do Not Send Your Children’
Democrats forget former Presidents warnings from 2014
As the Democrats continue to attack Presdient Donald Trump putting 'children in cages,' a video from 2014 of former presdient Barack Obama warning migrants "Do not send your children to the borders ... If they do make it, they’ll get sent back," has surfaced.
The video illustrates just how far left the Democrats have gone since Trump became President.
Obama made various statements regarding stopping the flow of illegal immigration across the U.S.-Mexico border.
But the former president's words are almost the polar opposite to what Democrats of 2019 are discussing on illegal immigration in 2019.
The lead-off night of the Democratic presidential primary debates featured a former Obama Cabinet official - to decriminalize illegal border crossings.
But Obama had a very different attitude just five years ago.
As per the Obama interview with ABC News in 2014:
“That is our direct message to the families in Central America: Do not send your children to the borders," Obama said.
“If they do make it, they’ll get sent back. More importantly, they might not make it.”
Obama then warned of the dangers of human trafficking, and other dangers children would face coming into the US illegally.
He stated flatly that those who were caught would be sent back.
Obama signed a bill that called for 1,500 new border agents in 2011.
2014 is not ancient history. Can someone please explain why this was not portrayed at the time as a morally abominable statement? pic.twitter.com/tUvMnFmxVs— Michael Tracey (@mtracey) June 26, 2019
In the same year as the ABC interview, Obama said border personnel should be able to “stem the flow of illegal crossings and speed the return of those who do cross over.”
He added, “Undocumented workers broke our immigration laws, and I believe that they must be held accountable.”
Even Obama's former ICE chief said it was Obama who came up with the idea of putting illegal immigrant children in the “cages,” not President Donald Trump.
Despite this fact, the Democrats are using the 'children in the cages' narrative to ignite outrage mobs against Trump as crucial aspects of their 2020 campaigns.
Thomas Homan, who was Obama’s executive associate director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement between May 2013 and 2017, was responsible for “promoting public safety and national security by maintaining direct oversight of critical ICE programs and operations to identify, locate, arrest, detain and remove illegal aliens from the United States."
He also served as Acting Director for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) since 2017.
Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) insisted Democrats took "full responsibility" to secure the US Southern Border and insists that Dems would never "put children in cages" to do so, seemingly forgetting that President Obama put children in cages.
