Nancy Pelosi Calls on Religious Leaders To Stop Trump's Mass ICE Raids
House speaker scrambles to stop Trump targeting undocumented immigrants

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has urged religious leaders to call on President Donald Trump to cease federal official from conducting raids in cities targeting undocumented immigrants, according to reports.
Pelosi said in a statement on Saturday that while many Americans will attend religious services Sunday, Immigration and Customs Enforcement will carry out 'Trump authorized' “heartless raids.”
“It is my hope that before Sunday, leaders of the faith-based community and other organizations that respect the dignity and worth of people will call upon the President to stop this brutal action which will tear families apart and inject terror into our communities,” Pelosi wrote.
The ICE operation will begin on Sunday aiming to apprehend up to 2,000 undocumented immigrants in up to 10 cities.

The President defended the agency’s actions, tweeting:
“The people that Ice will apprehend have already been ordered to be deported. This means that they have run from the law and run from the courts. These are people that are supposed to go back to their home country. They broke the law by coming into the country, & now by staying.”
But Pelosi argued that illegal immigrants across the country are hard-working individuals who deserve to know “that they have rights in America.”
Pelosi referenced Trump’s last-minute decision to halt Ian strikes saying I hope" Trump would apply the same value to immigrant children.
“As President Reagan said, ‘Thanks to each wave of new arrivals to this land of opportunity, we’re a nation forever young, forever bursting with energy and new ideas, and always on the cutting edge, always leading the world to the next frontier … If we ever closed the door to new Americans, our leadership in the world would soon be lost," Pelosi concluded.

....long before they get to our Southern Border. Guatemala is getting ready to sign a Safe-Third Agreement. The only ones who won’t do anything are the Democrats in Congress. They must vote to get rid of the loopholes, and fix asylum! If so, Border Crisis will end quickly!

Trump's ICE raids follow a major deal his administration reached with Mexico two weeks ago.
The Mexican Government agreed to stop the flow of illegal immigrants headed to the US Southern Border.
In a separate announcement on Monday, State Department spokesperson Morgan Ortagus revealed that the administration is canceling future economic aid to the Northern Triangle, which is comprised of Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador.
"We will not provide new funds for programs in those countries until we are satisfied the Northern Triangle governments are taking concrete actions to reduce the number of illegal migrants coming to the U.S. border," Ortagus said.
"Working with Congress, we will reprogram those funds to other priorities as appropriate."
