2020 presidential hopeful Joe Biden announced on his campaign website his intentions to wage war against guns as part of his "education" plan for America.

Biden said that the National Rifle Association (NRA) must be defeated "in order to make our schools safer," with a ban on semi-autos, Second Amendment columnist AWR Hawkins noted.

The former Vice President argued that arming school faculty members do not make schools safer, insisting the only solution is more gun policies, the opposite to what experts across the country are finding.

Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Commission approved school faculty members to carry firearms following the Parkland massacre in 2018.

Last week, Biden claimed that the Second Amendment doesn't say that Americans are "entitled" to own guns as he reaffirmed his position concerning the Constitution for his presidential run.

The former vice president admitted that the “Second Amendment exists” but argued during a speech at a campaign stop in New Hampshire on Tuesday that it doesn't say that Americans are “entitled” to own a gun.

Biden made the comments while taking questions at a small outdoor venue.

“By the way, if one of you left the keys in your car down the street, and a kid comes along and jumps in it and takes off, you could be held liable civilly for that," Biden said.

"Biden’s plan overlooks two very important issues. First, the deadliest school shooting of the 21st century–Virginia Tech, April 16, 2007– was carried out with handguns, not 'assault weapons,'" Hawkins continued in his report.

"That horrid attack perfectly illustrated the Rockefeller Institute of Government’s findings mass shooters prefer handguns over rifles by a margin of three to one."

"Secondly, Biden fails to note that school shootings occur in places where the most gun controls exist; places where law-abiding individuals who otherwise carry a gun for self-defense are mandated to disarm for gun-free zone policies," Hawkins concluded.

"These and other gun controls already guarantee that an attacker does not have to worry about facing armed resistance."
