School Removes 'God Bless America' After Pledge of Allegiance
Complaint prompt Pennsylvania elementary school to remove phrase

A Pennsylvania elementary school will remove the words “God bless America” after students say the Pledge of Allegiance, according to reports.
The Springfield School District announced in a statement that it would require Peter Brigg, principal at Sabold Elementary School, to discontinue saying “God bless America,” a phrase added to the end of the Pledge of Allegiance.
The school district confirmed that the move was prompted by a complaint by a parent who notified the Freedom for Religion Foundation, who in turn told the district that the practice violated federal law, the Associated Press reported.

The district said that it does not prohibit its students from saying “God bless America” after they recite the pledge.
According to a statement from the district
“To be clear, the District has not altered the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance and has not prohibited students from deciding on their own, as their form of self-expression, whether or not to state the words, ‘God Bless America.'"
But after a consultation with their lawyer, the district determined that not ending the practice would open itself up to litigation it says “the local taxpayers would have to financially support.“

“We understand that this is an important topic for many of our constituents; however, please understand that the District does not make the law,” the statement read.
“We follow it.”
Last year, a liberal charter school in Atlanta caused outrage after it decided to replace the Pledge of Allegiance with "a more inclusive" new "Oath to Global Society."
In what sounds like one of George Soros' wet dreams, the principal of Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School, Lara Zelski, recently announced they would drop the patriotic POA to be a more inclusive "global community."
Zelski says the school scrapped the traditional pledge to replace it with the new oath based on “students’ civic responsibility to their school family, community, country, and our global society,” reported ACJ.com.
