Nancy Pelosi Says Donald Trump is 'Becoming Self-Impeachable'
House Speaker says president is laying groundwork for impeachment

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., has claimed that President Donald Trump is laying the groundwork to become 'self-impeachable.'
Pelosi, who has previously declared that the president's impeachment was no longer on the table, claimed that Trump is moving to 'goad them into it.'
At Washington Post Live event, Pelosi said, “The president ... wants to goad us into impeachment because he knows, as do I, that that's not a good thing for the country."
"The point is that every single day, whether it's obstruction, obstruction, obstruction, obstruction of having people come to the table with facts, ignoring subpoenas, and the rest, every single day the president is making a case.
"He’s becoming self-impeachable.”

On Wednesday, the White House also asserted executive privilege over special counsel Robert Mueller 's unredacted report.
The House Judiciary Committee voted to hold Attorney General William Barr in contempt of Congress for withholding information from the Mueller report.
The move followed the Trump administration instructing Don McGahn resist a subpoena for information from the House Judiciary Committee.
But despite Pelosi's previous declarations that impeachment was off the table, on Wednesday she impeachment was a "divisive" response that needed to be "about patriotism not about partisanship."
She added she was not taking it off the table for Barr or Trump if it was based on "the presentation of fact."

Pelosi added that she wouldn't be endorsing a candidate through the 2020 Democratic presidential primary.
“I think all the candidates are fabulous, and any one of them would be a better president than the current occupant of the White House,” she said.
Last month, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., called for impeachment proceedings against Trump despite the 'Russia' narrative becoming almost obsolete.
“I know people say this is politically charged and we shouldn’t go there, and that there is an election coming up, but there are some things that are bigger than politics,” Warren said.
“We cannot be an America that says it is OK for a president of the United States to try and block an investigation into a foreign attack on our country or an investigation into that president’s own misbehavior -- so I have called on the House to initiate impeachment proceedings.”
