Maxine Waters Calls for AG Barr to Resign or Face 'Impeachment Proceedings'
California Democrat blasts Attorney General William Barr during interview - WATCH
Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) blasted Attorney General William Barr during a Tuesday interview, calling for the AG to resign or face "impeachment proceedings."
Anti-Trump Democrat Waters made the remarks on MSNBC’s “All In,” in response to the report by The Washington Post that special counsel Robert Mueller was critical of Barr's handling of the Russia probe's findings.
According to WaPo, Mueller allegedly told AG Barr that his summary “did not fully capture the context, nature, and substance” of the investigation.
Chairwoman of the House Financial Services Committee Waters stated that, in light of the newspaper's article, Barr should resign or be impeached.

CHRIS HAYES, MSNBC: "Final question for you, and this is about the fate of Bill Barr.
"Julian Castro tweeting, he should resign his position or face an impeachment inquiry himself immediately.
"What do you think of that?"
MAXINE WATERS: "I think that's correct.
"I think that Barr should resign.
"If he does not resign, he should be facing impeachment proceedings also.
"He has abdicated on his responsibility. He's lied.
"He has used the very words coming right out of the president's mouth, no collusion, no collusion, no collusion, and made a decision that despite what the counsel put into that report about obstruction of justice, he said he made the decision that he had not obstructed justice.
"It is outrageous, and he needs to go."
As Neon Nettle previously reported, on Tuesday, Maxine Waters vowed to continue efforts to obtain President Donald Trump’s financial records from two banks following a lawsuit by the Trump Administration to block access.
“I am not surprised at all, but we will fight him back,” Waters said following a closed-door meeting with Democrats.
Trump, along with three of his children, sued Deutsche Bank and Capital One on Monday to prevent them from complying with subpoenas issued by the Financial Services panel and the House Intelligence Committee.
During a separate interview last week, Waters also blasted Donald Trump and his supporters, suggesting that those who support their president are not patriots.
During an appearance on MSNBC's "AM Joy," Rep. Waters explained why she is pushing for President Trump's impeachment and accused Republicans, who supported impeaching President Clinton but not Trump, of being "in the pockets" of the president.
Waters went on to ask how a person can "claim to be a patriot" if they support Trump even "when they see that there are many people around this president who have interacted with those from Russia, from the Kremlin, and with Putin?"
"You take a look at this report, and you will be shocked at the information that’s unfolding," Waters said about the recently-released Mueller report.
"I think [Trump] should have been impeached a long time ago," Waters concluded.
