Former Top Democrat Accused of Sexually Molesting Teenage Male Student
Former Democratic Sen. David Boren, D-Okla faces sexual assault allegations
Former Democratic Sen. David Boren, D-Okla, is facing accusations of sexually assaulting a teenage male student from the University of Oklahoma.
Boren, who was the university's president at the time, is accused by Jess Eddy, now 29, of inappropriately kissing and touching him almost ten years ago when the student was 19.
Boren, who is now 77, served as Oklahoma governor and U.S. senator before he was appointed presdient of the University.
The complaint alleges that Eddy, who was Boren's teaching assistant at the time, had inappropriate interactions on multiple occasions with the then University presdient.
Atlanta-based law firm Jones Day has been hired by the university to investigate whether Boren sexually assaulted Eddy.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has also begun its probe into the allegations against Boren.
Oklahoma City-based journalism and media site, NonDoc, was first to report the allegations made by Eddy.
According to the report, Eddy claims Boren made sexual advances and harassed him on school premises, detailing the incidents.
Eddy claims that Boren drove him to a nearby liquor store and gave him a $100 bill to "get something for yourself."
Boren's lawyer, Clark Brewster, said that Boren denied the allegations saying that Eddy accounts don't match the statements submitted to himself and the university.
But according to previous statements, Eddy he did not recall Boren's inappropriate behavior.
“Mr. Eddy was carefully examined, asked about anything that he had ever witnessed or had seen or had experienced and not only said that didn’t occur, but he gave specific factual detail as to why it couldn’t have been true,” Brewster stated.
Brewster claims Boren mentored Eddy on general things concerning his education and had the same kind of relationship with Eddy as other students.
“He would know him but not very well,” Mr. Brewster said.
Yesterday we reported Democrat Joe Biden was accused by a former assemblywoman of kissing her against her consent while backstage at a rally in 2014.
