New York's liberal Governor Andrew Cuomo has blasted his fellow Democrats for their anti-Trump obsession and never-ending attacks against the president.

On Monday, Gov. Cuomo criticized Dems for their anti-Trump agenda — including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) — saying they’re spending too much time attacking the president and not enough time working on their own vision for the nation's future.

“The Democrats have been too focused on ‘We’re going to win by just being anti-Trump,’” Cuomo said during an interview on WAMC radio.

“I have said all along that it’s not enough to be anti-Trump.

"First of all, no one is as good as making the case against Trump as Trump.

"You don’t win a game, you don’t win an election just on playing on one side of the court.

“You have to play offensive defense, we’ll win when we offer the alternative vision and that’s what the Democrats have to be focusing on, not this Twitter-deep policy and analysis.”

According to the New York Post, Cuomo’s comments came a day after Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) unleashed a fiery tirade against the president, calling him a “coward” at a campaign event in New York City on Sunday.

The governor also took what appeared to be a swipe at Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), who is not shy about sharing her anti-Trump feelings with her 3.6 million Twitter followers.

“Where did it happen that we shifted from a really basically substantive conversation to this celebrity, media, social media, Twitter dialogue that is a mile wide and half an inch deep?” Cuomo asked.

“Where celebrity and the number of Twitter followers determines whether you were suited for elected office.

"And if you have more Twitter followers, then you’re a more viable candidate.

"Experience doesn’t matter, accomplishments don’t matter.

"It’s a degradation of the system. It’s a degradation of government."

Corbin Trent, Ocasio-Cortez’s spokesman, responded:

“He must be talking about somebody else.

"She’s not a mile wide and an inch deep she’s very in-depth when it comes to policy.

"I couldn’t imagine he’d be talking about her.”
