Democrats Push for US Gun Ban Following New Zealand Shooting
Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) urges the US to follow country's lead on firearm ban
Just hours after New Zealand announced banning semiautomatic rifles and shotguns, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and other Democrats tweeted the U.S. needs to follow their lead.
“In country after country, massacres are followed by sweeping changes to gun laws, as logic would dictate. The United States needs to follow these examples and take action to protect Americans from this deadly public health scourge.”
In her tweet she attached a statement:
Here at home in America, since the 1999 shooting at Columbine High School, we’ve suffered through at least 227 school shootings that killed 143 and left 290 wounded. And those are just shootings at schools. We’ve seen massacres at offices, churches, theaters, concerts, malls — all the places that Americans should feel safe, not threatened.
Feinstein failed to mention that the schools which have witnessed shootings have been gun-free zones, and the Democrats have been reluctant to change that.
California is an excellent example of Democrats pushing to keep teacher unarmed under an attack.
The Democrats frequently Aurora movie theater attack without officially recognizing that the theater was a gun-free zone.
Other guns free zone included:
The San Bernardino County Buildings (December 2, 2015)
Orlando Pulse Nightclub (June 12, 2016)
Borerline Bar & Grill (November 7, 2018)
Henry Pratt Company offices (February 15, 2019)

Christchurch happened, and within days New Zealand acted to get weapons of war out of the consumer market.

Another Democrat calling for a gun ban is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who called for a radical firearms ban in the United States while championing government confiscation of guns from law-abiding citizens.
On Thursday, 2020 hopeful Bernie Sanders also joined the calls to ban guns in America, saying, "This is what real action to stop gun violence looks like. We must follow New Zealand’s lead."
The New Zealand gunman mentioned Trump and a list of conservative voices, including Candice Owens in his manifesto, putting pressure on the president to address wild accusations that he inspired the violence.
'The Fake News Media is working overtime to blame me for the horrible attack in New Zealand. They will have to work very hard to prove that one. So Ridiculous!' Trump tweeted on the attack.
