Ocasio-Cortez Accuses Fox of 'Racism' For Calling Her By the Wrong Name
Fox News triggered progressive Democrat following interview

Fox News triggered progressive Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez after they called her by the wrong name, claiming the network did it intentionally.
“By the way: Fox News likes to say my name (incorrectly) as ‘Cortez,'” she tweeted Wednesday.
“which I can only imagine is bc that sounds more ‘stereotypically’ Hispanic [and] probably incites more ‘anxiety’ for them.”

Ocasio-Cortez aimed Fox News host Laura Ingraham, Tucker Carlson, and Sean Hannity, referring to them as “Ingra,” “Carl” and “Hann” in an attempt to prove a point.
But the congresswoman's complaint does not seem to add up.
Tom Elliott, the founder of Grabien media-clipping service, said that after searching from the beginning of March to the current date, amounting to 20 days of programming, there was no proof that Ingraham ever referred to the Democrat as “Cortez.”

Pro Tip:
My last name is not “Cortez,” just as theirs isn’t “Ingra” or “Carl” or “Hann.”
You may be unsurprised to learn that this is untrue. I checked every mention of "Cortez" on the Ingraham Angle in March and didn't find @IngrahamAngle referring to @AOC as "Cortez" once. On 3/14, Rabbi Aryeh Spero said "Cortez and her quartet," but Laura never did. https://t.co/MRhGnYxQFH

For the curious, in Latinx culture children take *both* their parents‘ names.

It’s not a “progressive, new thing.” It’s just how some names work. PR hyphenates, others mark differently. Your last name = the families that came together to make you.
AOC is also fine though :)
“How dare they refuse to say their name in a wrong accent & not mangle their own family name so that I can feel more comfortable instead of look inside myself & examine why something as small as *a person’s name* makes me uncomfortable in the first place?? This is an outrage!” https://t.co/ArYd28WVcv

Another search left Hannity as the only possible offender, who referred to Ocasio-Cortez by just the second half of her last name just twice in 20 days.
He did name her correctly over 100 times in that same timeframe.
Ocasio-Cortez’s accusation was a response to a segment from Ingraham’s show Tuesday where the host and guest Joe di Genova accused the New York Rep. of turning her accent 'on and off' when it suited her.
Hillary Clinton was known to revert to her Arkansas accent when campaigning in certain parts of the country.
