Search warrants to read former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen’s emails had already been obtained by special Counsel Robert Mueller a year before his office was raided by the FBI, according to unsealed court documents.

FBI agents obtained three warrants to search all of Cohen’s electronic communications.

Mueller’s team then passed the information obtained in the review of the emails to federal prosecutors in the Southern District of New York.

But just two months later, Cohen’s home and office were raided by SDNY prosecutors.

The FBI said there was "probable cause" to believe Cohen had committed campaign finance violations.

The Beuro obtained a warrant for emails sent and received between June 2015 and February 2018.

According to the ajc:

Documents released Tuesday showed authorities investigated Cohen for failing to register as a foreign agent and money laundering, though he was not charged with either crime.

20-page section of the documents related to campaign finance violations was redacted from the documents released Tuesday.

Axios reported that the redaction indicated “that the Southern District of New York's investigation into hush money payments made on behalf of President Trump remains active.”

Cohen told House investigators earlier in March that he consulted with Democrat Schiff's team on a large number of topics in the sessions, that were later discussed during the high-profile public hearing.

Two sources "familiar with the matter," told Fox News that Republicans are now questioning whether the meetings amounted to coaching a witness.

According to the sources, the National Enquirer’s “Catch and Kill” policy, American Media CEO David Pecker and the alleged undervaluing of President Trump's assets were all addressed during the secret meetings, before them being raised during Cohen's testimony.
