Nancy Pelosi Accused of ‘Losing Control’ of Democrats
White House Press secretary says Democratic House Speaker splitting party
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement on Tuesday that Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is losing control of the Democrats.
As Pelosi announced she is giving up on pursuing Donald Trump's impeachment, the Democrats have become divided into two factions.
Sanders claimed the House speaker is now beginning to lose control of her party.
In a press statement on Tuesday, Sanders said: “I think Nancy Pelosi is clearly already starting to lose control of her party.
“I think we're seeing that on a lot of things that have taken place over the last couple of weeks.”
Pelosi insisted that efforts to impeach Donald Trump with no evidence would serve to split the nation and cause social and political disarray.
According to a report from the Washington Post, Pelosi said:
“Impeachment is so divisive to the country that unless there's something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan, I don't think we should go down that path, because it divides the country.”
The speaker's stance has now put her at odds with other Democrats and donors, including Liberal billionaire Tom Steyer who said he would be investing $40 million into an impeachment campaign to "remove" President Trump from office.
Sanders said she was “glad Pelosi sees what the rest of us see, that there's no reason, no cause for impeachment.”
I greatly appreciate Nancy Pelosi’s statement against impeachment, but everyone must remember the minor fact that I never did anything wrong, the Economy and Unemployment are the best ever, Military and Vets are great - and many other successes! How do you impeach....— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 13, 2019
“Nobody wants to see President Trump impeached, other than Democrats in Congress who are failing, who have no other message, and that's because our country is doing better.
“I know that this is hard for them to run against in 2020.
“And I think they've got a very, very hard, uphill battle ahead of them.”
Earlier this month, California Democrat Maxine Waters slammed President Donald Trump saying “impeachment is the only answer," as she cited the allegations of obstruction of justice.
Waters, who called for nationwide protests against Trump, claiming that he's using "fake emergency powers," called for his impeachment.
President Donald Trump reacted to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's (D-CA) recent comments that she is giving up on pursuing his impeachment.
“I greatly appreciate Nancy Pelosi’s statement against impeachment, but everyone must remember the minor fact that I never did anything wrong,” Trump wrote on Twitter.
“The Economy and Unemployment are the best ever, Military and Vets are great – and many other successes!”
