New warnings have been issued by the New York Police Department (NYPD) to its officers regarding illegal immigrant gangs including MS-13’s plans to “hit” their homes while they are off duty, according to reports.

The warning comes as MS-13 ups the ante on improving their “street credibility.”

The 105th precinct issued the warning in the Queens borough of New York City on Tuesday, the New York Post reports.

The report also cites an internal memo affirming that the gang intends to “hit” officers’ homes in the Long Island area.

“Intel has been obtained that members of MS13 are looking to ‘hit’ NYPD police officers,” the memo states.

“Specifically in the Brentwood/Central Islip area, as well as possibly Patchogue to gain street credibility. These members are conducting reconnaissance of [member of service] private residences.”

Law enforcement was warned to “always be cognizant,” be aware of their surroundings, look out for suspicious vehicles or activity, and change up their regular daily routines.

“Out of an abundance of caution, an officer safety alert was sent off an unverified threat by MS13 targeting law enforcement officers,” NYPD spokeswoman Sgt. Jessica McRorie said.

Presdient Donald Trump has previously described MS-13 as “worse than al-Qaeda."

The gang is operating in 42 states and Washington, D.C.

“MS-13 is a unique problem because of the unusually brutal crimes its members have committed, its success in using intimidation to victimize and control people in its territory, and its focus on recruiting young members, often in schools,” the Center for Immigration Studies explains.

MS13 and border issue

Last year, the former President Barack Obama’s Border Patrol chief claimed MS-13 gang members 'laugh' about how easy it is to cross the southern border.

Mark Morgan, who appeared on "Tucker Carlson Tonight,” supported President Donald Trump's pledge to build a wall on the southern border

Despite Morgan's support of Trump, he was asked to step down from his position with the Border Patrol by Trump's administration.

Morgan and Carlson discussed the recent attack teenager who was stabbed in a violent attack by three MS-13 members from his high school.
