Democrats Accused of Conspiring with CNN Against Bernie Sanders During Q&A Event
The socialist senator was thrown into the deep end with complex policy issues

The Democratic party and news outlet CNN have been accused of attempting to undermine Bernie Sanders after the network disguised the political affiliations of its audience members who fired unrelenting questions at the senator at the town hall event.
The socialist senator was thrown into the deep end with complex policy issues after trying to answer questions from audience members whose political stances, and possibly their ulterior motives were masked by CNN.
The underhand tactic was first spotted by Paste Magazine, who accused CNN of colluding with the Democratic Party and “stacking” the audience against Sanders by not being clear about who was asking the senator questions.

One example was a woman, who was identified by CNN as a student at American University, suggested that Sanders had turned a blind eye to his campaign’s alleged sexist behavior throughout the 2016 primaries.
She then asked what the democratic socialist would do to make women feel more included in his 2020 presidential bid.
But CNN failed to disclose that the student was also an intern at a major DC lobbying firm, which is very coincidental given her question was tailored from a 'Democrat-friendly' Sanders-bashing talking point.
CNN remained secretive about the true backgrounds of the audience.
Another audience member, labeled as a “George Washington student," was later exposed as an intern for a Democratic fundraising organization the Katz Watson Group - previously a campaign for or ‘Hillary Clinton for America.’

Wolf Blitzer, the Town hall moderator, introduced another audience member as a "mother of two," but turned out she was very “active in the Maryland Democrat Party.”
But the "mom" was the chair of her county’s Democratic Central Committee.
Just a coincidence?
CNN then admitted that it should have been more transparent.
“Though we said at the beginning of the Town Hall that the audience was made up of Democrats and Independents, we should have more fully identified any political affiliations,” the network said in a statement.
Last week, Sanders enraged Democratic lawmakers after he declined to recognize Juan Guaido as Venezuela’s interim president.
Sanders called for fresh elections in Venezuela, immediately going against lawmakers who are pushing for regime change in the country.
The socialist, who recently declared his bid to take on Donald Trump in 2020, is now creating friction among Democrats because of his views on the current political crisis in Venezuela.
