Putin Says 'Deep State' is Working Against President Donald Trump
Russian leader makes remarks during his state-of-the-nation speech

Russian President Vladimir Putin has suggested that the "deep state" is working against President Trump, The New York Times reports.
The Russian leader's comments came during his state-of-the-nation speech Wednesday where he states that Russia would target the U.S. if it deploys nuclear missiles in Europe.
Putin remarks come amid the recent announcement by the U.S. that it would discontinue complying with the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty, a 1987 pact that forbids nuclear and conventional ground-launched ballistic and cruise missiles.

The Russian leader said there are many people within the U.S. "ruling class" who are "too captivated by ideas of their exceptionalism and their superiority over the entire rest of the world.”
“But do they know how to count? Surely they do," Putin added from a Times report.
"Let them first calculate the range and speed of our advanced weapons systems, and then make decisions on the threats against our country.”
Putin then added that there is a "deep state" working against the president.
Last September, we reported that unnamed White House insider confirmed the presence of the "deep state," adding there is "dozens and dozens" of operatives working against President Trump.

The senior official from within Trump’s administration confirmed the existence of the “deep state” resistance, following the recent hit-piece in the NY Times from another anonymous insider.
“I find the reaction to the NYT op-ed fascinating — that people seem so shocked that there is a resistance from the inside,” an anonymous senior official told Axios, admitting that some of them wished they had written the piece.
“I hope he knows — maybe he does? — that there are dozens and dozens of us,” the source added.
Trump accused former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who both have been accused of being deep state operatives, of an “illegal and treasonous” plot against him following McCabe's revelations on secretly recording the president.
