Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe has declared he is preparing to file a civil lawsuit against the Department of Justice for firing him, according to reports.

Then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions fired McCabe in March 2018 just before he was set to retire and collect his full pension.

According to an inspector general report, McCabe had deceived investigators about leaks to the media.

But McCabe claims the inspector general report is not telling the full story, insisting he was fired because he opened an obstruction of justice investigation into President Trump.

“I read that report very closely myself, I’ve been writing and reading investigative reports for over 20 years, and that report was not like anything I have ever read before,” he said.

“So I have big problems with that report, I disagree with the conclusions they drew, and that is something that I’ll be raising in a civil lawsuit that I’ll be bringing against the Department of Justice.”

Senator Lindsey Graham (R S.C) vowed he would launch a full investigation into allegations that top Justice Department officials plotted a coup against Donald Trump.

He also promised to investigate the discussions about invoking the 25th Amendment to remove the president.

Sen. Graham threatened to subpoena former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe if he refused to testify before the Senate about the plot to oust President Trump.

"We're going to find out what happened here and the only way I know to find out is to call the people in under oath and find out, through questioning, who's telling the truth because the underlying accusation is beyond stunning," Graham, the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said on CBS’ "Face the Nation."

Graham said he also plans to subpoena Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein along with McCabe if the pair doesn't voluntarily agree to testify before the committee.

Yesterday, Donald Trump accused McCabe and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein of an “illegal and treasonous” plot against him following McCabe's revelations on secretly recording the president.
