Failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton challenged President Donald Trump's remarks calling the situation on the US-Mexico border a "humanitarian and security crisis" claiming he should not request emergency powers to build the wall.

Trump described undocumented immigration as being a significant factor for facilitating human trafficking, illegal drug trade, and other crimes.

But Democrats like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi rejected his push for the border wall, despite the President insisting it will resolve the crisis.

Clinton met sharp criticism on Twitter after claiming there was no emergency at the border.

"I just don't think you should call national emergencies unless there truly is a national emergency," Clinton said in a new of Showtime's documentary series The Circus.

"There's no national emergency at out border, and he's frustrated because he cannot even convince his own party to support his requests."

"And he shouldn't be breaking new ground and causing precedents that really could come back to haunt not him, but haunt our country," Clinton declared, implying that Trump should "go through regular" protocols and work with Congress.

Clinton also claims that Democratic lawmakers are 'just as supportive' about security at the border, but remains at odds that a wall is the only solution.

But according to a report from Fox News: the border-security deal in Congress is being settled after White House hinted it would accept an agreement for just fraction of the money Trump initially demanded.

Congressional negotiators said that the funds allocated for the wall fall far short of the $5.7 billion requested by the President.

It's unclear whether Trump will issue and national emergency and force another Government shutdown to keep his promise.

Digressing from the subject of border security, the former secretary of state said she was also looking forward to the release of Special Counsel Mueller's report on the Trump campaign's alleged ties with Russia.

"I think anyone in a position of responsibility must keep the American people informed, and I would expect that duty to be fulfilled, and if there is a report, that report should be sent to the Congress and made public."

But Clinton's remarks did not go down to well on Twitter, with many accusing her of overlooking warning signs ahead of the infamous 2012 attack on US diplomatic facilities in Benghazi, which killed four US diplomatic workers inclduing Ambassador Christopher Stevens.

Yesterday, Ivanka Trump said she has “zero concern” regarding Robert Mueller's Russia investigation.

Speaking to ABC Trump insisted, “There’s nothing there,” when asked about the alleged prospective Moscow deal and the Trump Tower meeting.

“Yet it’s created weeks and weeks and months of headlines,” she added.

Trump then said she “barely" knew about the deal before downplaying the importance of the project’s exploration.

Last Dember Clinton also slammed Trumps' decision to withdraw troops from Syria, claiming it would put the United States' national security at risk.

She insisted the move was "empowering ISIS."

“Actions have consequences, and whether we’re in Syria or not, the people who want to harm us are there & at war.

"Isolationism is weakness. Empowering ISIS is dangerous. Playing in Russia & Iran’s hands is foolish. This President is putting our national security at grave risk,” Clinton, the 2016 Democratic nominee for president, tweeted.
