President Donald Trump sarcastically mocked the Democrats' so-called Green New Deal initiative led by freshman Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (NY-14), which seeks to save the planet and ‘revolutionize’ the US economy.
Trump, who is already a fierce skeptic of climate change, stopped short of calling the deal 'the worst ever.'
The President believes that spending trillions to transform the US economy would be wasted and would undermine America’s competitive advantage on the world stage.

“I think it is very important for the Democrats to press forward with their Green New Deal. It would be great for the so-called ‘Carbon Footprint’ to permanently eliminate all Planes, Cars, Cows, Oil, Gas & the Military – even if no other country would do the same,” Trump tweeted Saturday.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's "Green New Deal" proposal faced huge criticism from many including a Wall Street Journal writer who described it as "idiotic."
WSJ’s Kimberley Strassel shredded Democratic socialist Ocasio-Cortez's proposal saying it made her "laugh so hard" that she "nearly cried."

Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Ed. Market (D-MA), states that the new legislation aims to move the United States over to 100% renewable energy sources in the next ten years, entirely abolishing the use of fossil fuels and internal combustion engines for vehicles.
The bill says it wants to guarantee “a job with a family-sustaining wage, adequate family and medical leave, paid vacations, and retirement security to all people of the United States.
”According to the “frequently asked questions” sheet provided by Ocasio-Cortez’s staff to NPR, the plan will provide “[e]conomic security for all who are unable or unwilling to work.”
