Model Who Said She Had Proof of Trump/Russia Collusion, in Court on Sex Offenses
Model was entangled in a political scandal with Russian aluminum tycoon Oleg Deripaska
A Belarusian model, who claimed she had 'proof' of President Donald Trump colluding with Russia, has appeared in court for a trial over sex crimes in Thailand.
Anastasia Vashukevich was arrested for running a 'sex training course' and has been held in custody since a police raid in the seaside resort of Pattaya last February.
Vashukevich arrived in court alongside her seven co-defendants, who were also on trial for charges including soliciting sex.
The model traveled to Thailand after becoming entangled in a political scandal with Russian aluminum tycoon Oleg Deripaska, an alleged one time associate of Donald Trump's discredited former campaign director Paul Manafort.
In a bizarre move, Vashukevich promised the media details of the 'missing puzzle pieces' on claims the Kremlin aided Trump's 2016 election triumph.
But no material ever materialized to confirm her claims, which many say was merely a publicity stunt.
Police claimed the risque seminar, led by self-styled Russian seduction guru Alex Kirillov, was breaking Thai decency laws
Kirillov, who was the spokesperson for the group, claimed he was set up.
'I think somebody ordered (our arrest)... for money,' he said upon his arrival to court.
The group pleaded not guilty, insisting they where only training people on 'how to seduce men and women' and not engaging in sexual activity.
Supporters of the defendants say that the seminar only offered romance and relationship advice.
Vashukevich and Kirillov fear they will be deported back to Russia, even calling on Washington for help.
Vashukevich later condemned the US and blamed them for their imprisonment.
Moscow and Washington have dismissed f Vashukevich's story, which the US State Department called 'bizarre.'
Vashukevich also wrote a book about seducing oligarchs.
Deripaska won an invasion of privacy lawsuit against her after a video filmed by the model revealed the tycoon vacationing with an influential Russian deputy prime minister.
Donald Trump's ex-campaign manager, Deripaska, and Manafort, allegedly did business together in the mid-2000s.
Manafort has since been sentenced in the US of financial crimes related to political work he did in Ukraine before the 2016 election as well as witness tampering.
He has since admitted providing polling data to a Russia.
