London Heathrow Airport Grounds Flights after Drone Reports
UK's major international airport thrown into chaos

The UK's major international airport London Heathrow has been forced to grounds flights following r a suspected "drone sighting" just weeks after Gatwick's chaos.
Drone sightings caused flights to be canceled last month at Gatwick Airport, disrupting travel plans for 140,000 people.
“We are responding to a drone sighting at Heathrow,” The airport said in a statement.

“As a precautionary measure, we have stopped departures while we investigate. We apologize to passengers for any inconvenience this may cause.”
Both Gatwick and Heathrow have spent millions of pounds on “military-grade anti-drone equipment” to tackle drones, which is still being investigated.
UK police have arrested two people suspected to be behind the recent drone attacks at Gatwick Airport near London.

Sussex Police announced they have a man and a woman in custody in connection with the "criminal use of drones" which caused major disruption, bringing the busy airport to its knees.
The two suspects were held on Friday night after another day of chaos at the airport which saw dozens of more flights canceled, and passengers were thrown into disarray just days before Christmas.
Following the arrests, Sussex Police said in a statement:
"As part of our ongoing investigations into the criminal use of drones which has severely disrupted flights in and out of Gatwick Airport, Sussex Police made two arrests just after 10 pm.
