KISS Guitarist: Americans Should Support Trump ‘Or Move to Another Country’
Ace Frehley goes against Hollywood anti-Trump rhetoric
KISS guitarist Ace Frehley went against Hollywood anti-Trump rhetoric arguing that Americans should either support President or consider leaving the country.
Appearing on the “Juliet: Unexpected” podcast, the 67-year-old said he usually avoid the topic of politics but expressed anger about people who “jump on the bandwagon against our government.”
“I hate politics,” Frehley said.
“I don’t like talking politics, and I don’t think politics and music mix. I frown on musicians who get up on a platform and start talking about the president or complain about — I just don’t think it belongs.”
“I’m an entertainer,” he continued.
“There’s no reason to bring up politics. Let me play my guitar and write songs and entertain people. That’s my job.”
Frehley then argued that whether people love or hate Trump, they should “get behind” President Donald Trump for the sake of the country.
“He was elected. We live under the Constitution of the United States, and you’re supposed to support your president,” he said.
“Love him or hate him, you’re supposed to support him, or to move to another country.”
“Being American, we have the right to free speech, and I’m all for everybody putting their two cents in on everything, but when musicians or actors get verbal and jump on a bandwagon against our government, I don’t agree with that,” he added.
Recently DJ and liberal activist Moby promised to move out of the United States and escape to Canada if the Democrats fail to take the House after the midterms and Donald Trump is reelected in 2020.
The electronic music star reminded the crowd during a recent get-out-the-vote concert that he's already investigating how "you become an expat," and if things don't swing for Dems, then he's "done" with the US.
Speaking audience members at Los Angeles’ Palace Theater last Thursday evening, Moby said:
“I have to say, like everyone, I am on regular occasion Googling, ‘How do you become an expat? How do you get Canadian citizenship? What are some other countries I consider moving to?’
