Ocasio-Cortez: Conservatives ‘Gaslight the Nation' When They Criticize Her
Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez blasts her critics

Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has lashed out at her conservative critics, accusing them of wanting to "gaslight the nation" by questioning her policies.
Ocasio-Cortez claimed that when "a conservative tries to lecture us" they are "not operating honestly" during a Twitter rant on Wednesday.
The New York Democrat Socialist accused her critics of not knowing what "they’re talking about" and engaging "in a project to protect their agenda" as she responded to comments made by Kellyanne Conway, who she accused of being "engaged in a War on Facts since Inauguration Day."
“Daily Reminder that anytime a conservative tries to lecture us about who ‘knows what they’re talking about’ and who doesn’t, they are not operating honestly, and engaged in a project to protect their agenda and gaslight the nation,” the incoming lawmaker posted on Twitter.

According to The Hill, she also shared a tweet which included the Washington Post’s ongoing database of President Trump’s 6,420 false or misleading remarks in 649 days.
Ocasio-Cortez, who made history by becoming the youngest woman elected to Congress, was elaborating on her previous comments about White House counselor Kellyanne Conway.
Conway recently criticized Ocasio-Cortez while discussing possible successors to White House chief of staff John Kelly, saying that the New York Democrat “doesn’t seem to know much about anything.”
“[Kelly] is in his fifth decade of public service, and this country owes him a debt of gratitude, not the nonsense that has been spewed about him recently from the left, and from this 29-year-old congresswoman who doesn't seem to know much about anything when you ask her basic concepts about the economy, or the Middle East, or military funding,” Conway said on Tuesday during an interview with Fox News.

Ocasio-Cortez fired back on Wednesday by accusing Conway of engaging in a “War on Facts since Inauguration Day.”
“Leveraging those who belittle my capacity is exactly how I defeated a multi-generation, multi-million $ political machine. GOP is even weaker bc their bias has no self-control,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted.

Ocasio-Cortez has not shied away from confronting conservative critics on Twitter, often calling out members of the Trump administration and Fox News for their commentary on her.
The progressive from the Bronx has been a lightning rod for criticism since she defeated House Democratic Caucus chairman Rep. Joseph Crowley (D-N.Y.) in a stunning primary victory.
