Hillary Clinton Abandons Doomed Speaking Tour to Attend Wedding
HRC bails on Trump-bashing tour as ticket sales bomb
Hillary Clinton appears to have abandoned her doomed speaking tour with husband Bill to attend a wedding in India instead.
Tickets sales for "An Evening with the Clintons" have bombed, with the power couple even resorting to selling cut-price tickets on Groupon.
The Clintons' "conversation tour" has mainly consisted of bashing Trump to venues filled with empty seats.
Now it looks as though Hillary has bailed on the ill-fated tour, as she hops on a flight to India for a wedding, without any word of rescheduling the canceled appearance in Sugar Land, Texas.
According to the Daily Wire, last week, the pair, who failed to draw any significant attention at either of two appearances in Canada, announced that they'd be "postponing" the Sugar Land appearance because of former President George H. W. Bush's funeral, but promised a new tour date "soon."
"Clinton arrived to attend pre-wedding celebrations for Isha Ambani, daughter of Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani," The Hill says.
"The wedding ceremony is Wednesday in Mumbai."
"Hillary received a warm welcome from the elated parents of the bride, Mukesh and Nita Ambani, and was seen quite excited to be joining the celebrations," India Today's gossip column reported.
"Then came the biggest surprise of the night. Hillary danced - no, strike that - she danced to bhangra beats with John Kerry, former US Secretary Of State and the entire Ambani clan."
"Hillary was dressed in Indian attire and was seen doing the bhangra with a lot of excitement," India Today said excitedly.
Beyonce and John Legend will also be in attendance at the wedding, just in case you were wondering.
Both are slated to perform at separate events leading up to the main ceremony on Wednesday.
Hillary's extended absence doesn't leave the Clintons much time to reschedule their speaking engagement before the year's up, meaning they'll likely push the Sugar Land appearance into next year.
The pair is supposed to resume their tour at the Beacon Theater in New York City on April 11th, with follow-up appearances in Detroit, Boston, Washington, D.C., Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
But as The Daily Wire reported on Sunday, those dates don't appear to be set in stone, either.
Tickets for the Clintons' final performance, at the historic Forum Theater in Los Angeles, were once priced between $75 and $175, but are now being advertised on the discount site Groupon for between $35 and $75.
Even that is technically considered pricey.
Before Bill and Hillary canceled their event in Sugar Land, tickets there were going for less than $10.
Parking passes for the arena cost more than middle-of-the-road tickets to see the post-Presidential pair "open up" about their lives in public service.
"Despite the site telling customers that ‘tickets are selling fast!’ with ‘limited time remaining,’ it appears that less than 450 discounted tickets have actually been sold," the Daily Mail reported over the weekend.
"A Groupon deal for the Clintons' talk is for the liberal stronghold of Los Angeles where one would imagine the political power couple should be able to pull in the numbers."
The Clintons probably won't go quietly into that dark night — after all, the pair have made the majority of their wealth in the interim since Bill Clinton was president — by charging outrageous sums of money to speak and appear at corporate events, but this may be the end of the line for this tour, at least.
