Christian Teacher Fired for Referring to ‘Gender Fluid’ Girl as ‘She’
Respected teacher committed the 'politically-incorrect' sin of not using preferred pronoun

A Christian teacher in Virginia has been fired from his job after he used the word "she" to refer to one of his female students.
Peter Vlaming, a respected teacher amongst the community, committed the 'politically-incorrect' sin of refusing to use the child's preferred pronoun.
Vlaming was fired from his teaching job at the West Point High School on Thursday following a vote where all five board members decided his refusal to use male pronouns for a female was too 'offensive' for him to retain his teaching position.
The female 'gender fluid' student, who decided that she is transgender, demanded everyone call her by her new name, according to wric.

Although Vlaming didn't have a problem with this, he did, however, draw the line at saying “him” and “his” to refer to the student who is biologically female.
Many teachers and students who know Vlaming defended him explaining that he didn't deliberately insult the transgender student, but instead he stood behind his personal beliefs.
“My religious faith dictates that I am to love and respect everyone, whether I agree with them or not. Because we are all made in God’s image,” Vlaming told the board in an opening statement.
“I am also aware of, and agree, with speech limits that are placed on public school teachers, concerning matters of religious faith,” the teacher continued.
“However, we are here today because a specific worldview is being imposed upon me.”
Even though the teacher attempted to support the trans student, his faith did not permit him to pretend that a girl is now a boy.
“I won’t use male pronouns with a female student that now identifies as a male though I did agree to use the new masculine name but avoid female pronouns,” Vlaming said, as cited in a 2,500 strong online petition to help protect his job.

“Administration is requiring that I use masculine pronouns in any and every context at school. I was informed that any further instances of using female pronouns would be grounds for termination,” the teacher added.

Ironically, the school his alleging the case is an issue of 'intolerance,' but their actions have just proved they are demonstrating intolerance themselves.
“We do not and cannot tolerate discrimination in any form, or actions that create a hostile environment for any member of our school family,” announced the school board.
The school does not seem to realize that firing a member of their so-called “school family” merely for his personal beliefs is a hostile move.
“What could be worse for your family than being fired from your job for not lying and violating conscience?” wondered Robert A. J. Gagnon, a Harvard-educated theology expert who commented on the case.
Despite the schools firing of the teacher, a massive portion of student disagrees with the decision.
“The public hearing was held in the Chorus Room, only allowing 38 members of the public to sit in on the meeting,” explained The Family Foundation.
“There were well over a hundred people who tried to attend the meeting in the middle of a Thursday afternoon. Students and parents sat in the hallway watching a live-stream of the hearing when they learned they could not get into the room,” the pro-family group maintained.
Schools should remain places of facts, reality, and critical thinking. Young an rebellious students should not be allowed to dictate tot he schools.
Although the female student should be treated with respect, which Vlaming attempted to do, she can still choose how she wants to live outside the school when she an adult graduate.
