Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg says he has 'tremendous respect for George Soros'

Following the bombshell revelations this week that Facebook has been running a smear campaign against its competitors, by linking them to George Soros, CEO Mark Zuckerberg gushed about his admiration for the billionaire globalist in his company's defense.

The social media giant's founder denied having anything to do with the alleged commissioning of an opposition research company to discredit anti-Facebook activists.

The exposé was revealed in a report published by the New York Times on Wednesday, claiming that Facebook had hired a firm called Definers Public Affairs.

The opposition research company is run by Romney-Ryan 2012 and Jeb Bush 2016 alumni and was paid by Facebook to discredit its critics, including conservative commentators Diamond and Silk.

“I learned about this relationship when I read this New York Times piece yesterday,” Zuckerberg declared in a statement.

“I have tremendous respect for George Soros.”

“Someone on our comms team must have hired them,” he continued, shielding Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg from blame by claiming she was also unaware of the partnership.

Since the revelations about Facebook were made public, Soros has demanded an investigation into the company's practices, which he described as "alarming."

Zuckerberg added, however, that anti-Facebook activism “was not a spontaneous grassroots effort, it was well-funded.”

According to Breitbart, in response to the New York Times report, Soros’ Open Society Foundation called out Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, claiming the social network’s “methods threaten the very values underpinning our democracy.”

The discoveries about targetting George Soros were just one of several major revelations in the New York Times piece that exposed how Facebook engaged in a number of practices designed to hurt competitors and direct media and government attention away from Zuckerberg's internet monopoly.

Facebook hates Trump

In response to Donald Trump's 2015 call for a shutdown of Muslim immigration following a series of Islamic terrorist attacks across the globe, Mark Zuckerberg, who runs an immigration-based nonprofit organization, and the CEO questioned whether Trump’s comments broke Facebook’s terms of service after he found the policy personally offensive.

Facebook hates Google

In November 2017, Facebook surprisingly came out in favor of a bill proposed that would make Internet giants responsible for sex trafficking happening on their platforms.

Facebook’s decision to support the bill was apparently not due to some altruistic desire to do good, but rather to make their competitor, Google, look bad for publicly disagreeing with the bill.

Facebook hates the right

Democratic Senate leader Chuck Schumer reportedly lobbied Senator Mark Warner (D-VA) to stop criticizing Facebook and focus on tackling the issue of “right-wing disinformation,” across the internet.

It should be noted that Schumer’s daughter Alison, works for Facebook as a product marketing manager.

Open Secrets also notes that Schumer received $38,900 from the company in 2016.
