Las Vegas Mass Shooting Survivors Were Inside California Bar During Attack
Nicholas Champion told CBS News that he and many others inside the Borderline
Survivors of the 2017 Las Vegas massacre where reportedly inside the Southern California bar that was the site of a mass shooting on Wednesday night.
Nicholas Champion told CBS News that he and many others inside the Borderline Bar and Grill in Thousand Oaks were also at the country music festival where almost 60 people were killed in October 2017.
"It's the second time in about a year and a month that this has happened," Champion told CBS News.
"It's a big thing for us. We're all a big family and unfortunately, this family got hit twice."
According to The Hill: Police have identified the suspected gunman in Wednesday night's mass shooting as 28-year-old Ian David Long, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
He is believed to have killed 12 people and injured others before turning his gun on himself.
While many of the victims have not yet been identified, officials say as Ventura County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Ron Helus, a 29-year law enforcement veteran, was killed in an exchange of gunfire with the shooter.
The bar, which was hosting its weekly college country night on Wednesday, is apparently a popular gathering spot for some of the Las Vegas survivors, according to the Los Angeles Times.
