Parents in the UK are resorting to buying their children stab-proof vests as London's stabbing epidemic soars beyond controllable limits.
This year Sadiq Khan's London has already clocked 100 homicides faster than at any time in the past decade, most of those were stabbings.
The most recent was a male model Harry Uzoka, 25, who was killed by a catwalk rival in a row over his girlfriend in Shepherds Bush, London.
According to The daily star: He was stabbed through the heart by George Koh, 24, outside his home in Shepherd’s Bush, west London, on January 11.
“I have heard moving statements from his mother and his cousin.”
Koh and his accomplice Merse Dikanda were both jailed for life for murder last week.
Jonathan Okigbo was jailed for 14 years after he was cleared of murder, but found guilty of manslaughter.
Sentencing them at the Old Bailey, Judge Wendy Joseph said Mr Uzoka’s family had told of the fear over knife crime.
She said: “They describe the impact of such offending on the community, children who are frightened to go out, parents who are thinking of buying their sons stab-proof vests just to ensure they are safe to go about their everyday lives.
“I have heard moving statements from his mother and his cousin. Their pain and anguish are palpable.”
As murder probes become common practice for police in the London, a 72 -year-old Carole Harrison was found dead in her house in south-west London after thugs killed her after her house burnt down.
The number of stabbings in London reached a total 1,296 by the end of June 2018.]
The death toll is now reaching 100 before September, making London on a steady course to see a higher number of homicides than the 116 recorded in 2017.
