The video of the incident was then shared by millions of people on social media, with many mainstream outlets going as far as to compare Ersson to Mahatma Gandhi.
Ersson failed to do her research though.
All she knew was that an Afghan man in his 50s was among the passengers was being deported.
Many mainstream media outlets failed to follow up on the story, mainly because police reports confirmed the man was an aggressive wife beater and child abuser.

Police confirmed the man was convicted of assault in Sweden.
He had beaten is daughters and his wife, among other horrific things, “whipped” them with a long charging cord
According to Voice of Europe: Now, newspaper Nyheter Idag reveals that the man was sentenced to nine months in jail for three cases of assault of his own wife and their two children.
The newspaper writes that the man was frequently violent and the verdict against him is an event on 14 January 2018.
At that day he “whipped” his two underage daughters because they did not turn off their TV.
According to the judgment, he took a two-meter-long charging cord, folded it, and then struck the little girls on the back, arms, and legs.
However, the assault did not stop there. When the mother came into the room, the children managed to escape from there.

Recently Neon Nettle reported Sweden had lost track of over 27,000 asylum seekers who failed to be granted citizenship and receiving expulsion orders from the country, 4,5000 of them were children.
A total of 223 underage asylum seekers have now been reported missing following the expulsion orders in January and February this year alone.
