Steve Bannon: Cryptocurrency Will Bring 'True Freedom' To The World

Donald Trump's former advisor, Steve Bannon, has expressed his true feelings on cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin at an event in Switzerland.
Bannon, the President's former aide, described the 'liberating possibilities' in digital currencies and blockchain technology, touting the financial and nonfinancial potential of digital coins.
Speaking to a sold-out crowd, which was part of Bannon’s European speaking tour, he referred to cryptocurrencies and their technology as being at the heart of a populist movement in Switzerland.

“Control of data, citizenship, and currency will be true freedom,” the former head of media company Breitbart told the crowd, adding:
“Central banks are in the business of debasing your currency. Central governments are in the business of debasing your citizenship.
"The central technology conglomerates are in the business of debasing your own personal sovereignty and your own personal data.”
CoinThud reports: Before Stephen Bannon was dismissed from the White House in 2017, he was a harsh critic of the “financial elites.”
The former member of the National Security Council often criticized those in Wall Street and Silicon Valley.
Now, the man who helped Donald Trump win the US Presidency says cryptocurrency is a way to escape the control of those said elites:
“We take control of the central banks away. That will give us the power again…Once you take control of your currency, once you take control of your data, once you take control of your citizenship, that’s when you’re going to have true freedom.”
He went on to say the best way to “break” away from this oppression is to mass-adopt cryptocurrencies and their technology.
Mr. Bannon’s passionate cries about cryptocurrency inspired resounding applause from the audience.
Before leaving the stage, he was asked if he’s still on speaking terms with Trump, to which Bannon joked: “I’m on listening terms.”
“President Trump and I have had our ups and downs … and yes, our lawyers do talk,” Mr. Bannon added.
