James Carville Sounds Alarm over Looming Midterms: ‘I Am Petrified’
'I am not a voice of calm'
Former Clinton strategist James Carville has sounded the alarm over the upcoming midterm elections which are predicted to be a total "bloodbath" for the Democrats.
During MSNBC’s “PoliticsNation,” the Democratic strategist sounded the alarm of the coming blood bath his party could face in the midterms.
After expressing how “petrified” and “mortified” he was heading into the midterms, Carville admitted that “if this country does not have a voter intervention,” he was “not optimistic about its future.”
“I am not a voice of calm," he began.
"I’m petrified,” Carville told host Al Sharpton.
“And I will echo what my friend Congressman Clyburn said — if this country does not have voter intervention, I am not optimistic about its future," he said.
“And if people, and particularly young people, if they care any about this country — and as you know; you were once a young person one time on the forefront of the civil rights movement — if they don’t get a hold of this and do something, I am mortified,” he continued.
“And I wholly endorse the Clyburn strategy of voter intervention," he added.
"But I am not a voice of confidence at all. I am very afraid right now.”
Carville added that President Joe Biden and the Democrats would do more to help the black and brown people in America deal with record-high gas and food prices than the Republicans.
Earlier this year, Democratic Party strategists are warning that congressional Democrats are "going to get slaughtered" in the looming midterm elections.
As Neon Nettle reported, they are concerned that Joe Biden’s appalling poll numbers and continued struggles with the economy are leading Democrats into a bloodbath.
According to a new report, record inflation and soaring gas prices will be a liability for Democrats going into the 2022 midterms.
Multiple political observers told The Hill that the continued presence of high prices would continue to weigh down Biden’s approval ratings with the public.
Fox News echoed the same with this article earlier this year:
MSNBC Opinion Columnist Michael Cohen warned that Democrats are headed for a "bloodbath" in the midterm elections, so they "might as well" continue to "pass their agenda" regardless of the "political backlash."
Cohen opened his MSNBC column saying, "I have some bad news for Democrats: As bad as things seem now, they’re almost certainly going to get worse."
He began by pointing to record-high inflation:
"The Labor Department released its latest Consumer Price Index report this week, and the numbers are ugly. Inflation hit 8.5 percent — the fastest one-year surge in prices since Ronald Reagan’s first year as president."
