Tech mogul Elon Musk has praised Netflix for standing up to its "woke" employees after the streaming platform told staff to either get on board with their content or leave.

Netflix’s new corporate "culture memo" effectively told "woke" employees that the company will not censor content.

Staff were warned that they can go and work somewhere else if they have a problem with something that the company is producing.

Last week, Variety reported that the change in Netflix’s company culture appears to be in large part due to the backlash the streaming service faced from woke employees last year.

Woke mobs protested over Netflix's Dave Chappelle special, which the employees claimed was "transphobic."

Staff members demanded that Netflix cancel Chappelle over the claims.

The updated Netflix Culture memo includes a new section called “Artistic Expression” that states that it will not “censor specific artists or voices” even if employees consider the content to be “harmful.”

“If you’d find it hard to support our content breadth, Netflix may not be the best place for you,” the memo states.

It later adds that employees may be required to work on projects that they “perceive to be harmful” and that if they have a hard time accepting their work assignment, they might want to consider working somewhere else because the company is not going to bend to pressure.

Musk responded to the news on Sunday, writing on Twitter: “Good move by @netflix.”

"The currents are changing,” businessman Vivek Ramaswamy said.

"Netflix says it stands for artistic expression and that employees who don’t want to work on content they find offensive can work somewhere else.

"And they reportedly fired the employee who led the trans ‘walkout protest’ earlier this year.”

Robert J. O’Neill, the U.S. Navy SEAL who killed Osama bin Laden, wrote: “Turns out the blue-haired screamers are wrong and capitalism is right.”

Other notable responses included:

  • Christopher F. Rufo, writer: “We should call this ‘The Disney Effect.'”
  • Rita Panahi, political commentator: “DeSantis standing up to Disney (& the media’s) lies about Florida’s parental rights bill is having all sorts of positive consequences.”
  • Piers Morgan, political commentator: “Finally… better late than never @netflix.”
  • David Sacks, venture capitalist: “Netflix gets real.”
  • Ayaan Hirsi Ali, human rights activist: “Common sense is coming back at Netflix.”
  • Nick V. Flor, professor: “Go Woke, Go Broke.”

The new section later added that the company supports “the artistic expression of the creators we choose to work with” and that “we let viewers decide what’s appropriate for them, versus having Netflix censor specific artists or voices.”
